Every marriage is a relationship between two identities. If the identities heal, the marriage heals. That single conviction is what the HRHL Marriage Institute is built on — and it is why couples leave here saying something most programs never produce.
Admission is by consultation only. Cohorts are capped, and every couple is screened for fit.

You Did Not Wake Up Here
You have had the same argument enough times to know the script. You have apologized and meant it, and nothing changed. You have prayed about it — together, separately, silently in the car.
Most marriage help stops at the surface. Communicate better. Try a date night. Learn his love language. Useful, sometimes. But it never answers the question underneath the fight: why do we communicate the way we do?
The marriage is not the first problem. Two unhealed identities are.
If more than two of those landed, you are not a broken couple. You are a couple whose foundation was never properly diagnosed.
What Separates HRHL
Plenty of programs claim the Bible. Plenty claim psychology. What almost none of them do is integrate identity formation, trauma-informed coaching, biblical discipleship, measurable assessments, and practical habit-building into a single repeatable system — and then measure whether it actually worked.
"We didn't just learn how to argue less — we learned why we argued the way we did."
"We didn't just improve our communication — we discovered how our childhoods, beliefs, and spiritual lives shaped our marriage."
"We didn't just save our marriage — we became different people."
What a couple should be able to say on the other side
The Marriage Tier Framework
Scripture describes what people build with — gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble. We use that as a diagnostic, not a verdict. These tiers describe marital patterns, never a person's value.
Wood
Constant conflict. Hidden things. Pride that will not bend. A Wood marriage is not a doomed marriage — it is one that needs reconstruction rather than adjustment. We stop the bleeding before we build anything.
Posture: Reconstruction
Silver
Real love, real faith, real gaps. Communication habits, financial unity, conflict skills, or intimacy that never got built on purpose. Silver marriages need intentional strengthening, not rescue.
Posture: Strengthening
Gold
Marriages that have endured, repented, and kept walking. Gold is not flawless; it is consistent. These couples move from surviving to multiplying — mentoring, leading, and leaving something behind.
Posture: Reinforce & Multiply
Almost no couple is one tier across the board. You may be Gold in spiritual unity and Wood in communication or finances. Your composite decides your track. Your domain scores decide what actually gets coached inside it. Which one you are is the first thing we find out together.
The HRHL Pillars
Four shape the marriage itself. A fifth undergirds all of them — because a healed spirit still lives in a body.
Who are you? Who did trauma make you become? Who does God say you are? Every transformation starts here.
Childhood wounds, attachment, forgiveness, triggers. The wounds beneath the behavior — addressed, not managed.
Leadership, submission, conflict, intimacy, parenting, finances, purpose. The practical work, built on healed identities.
Children, family, business, ministry, generational wealth. What the healed marriage is built to leave behind.
Nutrition, movement, rest, and the body as God's temple — because what you eat and how you sleep shape your capacity to love well, and your children are watching how you steward it.
"Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth." 3 John 1:2
Grounded in Data, Not Guesswork
Before a single session, each spouse completes a comprehensive evaluation — separately, honestly, without comparing answers. Where the two of you see things differently is some of the most useful information we will have.
It measures seventeen domains — from spiritual foundation and communication to trust, intimacy, family of origin, trauma history, and kingdom purpose. Then it is repeated at twelve weeks and again at six months, so you do not have to feel like something changed. You can see it.
Your answers are confidential and are seen only by your coach.
What Gets Measured
The Coaching Structure
Every couple runs a twelve-week track. Which twelve weeks depends entirely on what the assessment found.
Phase One
Identity, trauma, history, assessment. We find out who actually walked into this marriage.
Phase Two
Your tier, your strengths, your weaknesses, and the blind spots neither of you can see alone.
Phase Three
Weekly homework, communication drills, prayer assignments, financial planning, date nights, journaling.
Phase Four
Maintain the gains, mentor others, serve. A healed marriage was never meant to stay private.
The full curriculum — teaching, exercises, scorecards, and your personalized marriage manual — lives in a members-only portal released week by week. There is nothing to lose, misplace, or leave in a drawer. The week-by-week structure of your specific track is walked through on your consultation.
Before You Wonder
Every participant receives a signed Confidentiality Agreement from our side before anything begins. Your identity and your story are never sold, shared, or handed to anyone. Individual sessions stay separate from couples sessions — what you share one-on-one is not automatically carried into the room with your spouse. Appearing in any content is opt-in only, and requires a separate signed release.
Who You'll Be Working With
Author · Speaker · Faith-Based Coach & Mentor
I have spent years walking with people through the hardest parts of their stories — the trauma, the marriages on the brink, the identities built out of pain.
I wrote Trauma Letters: Healing the Child Within and When Trauma Speaks: Identity Defined by Circumstance because too many people are hurting in silence — in their marriages and in themselves. Trauma Letters became a #1 Amazon bestseller in its category, and what readers kept telling me was not "great book." It was "I finally have language for this."
The Institute is what happens when that work stops being a book you read alone and becomes a framework two people walk together. I do not do polished and distant. I do real. If you are ready to do the work, I will walk it with you.
Healing the Child Within
The book that started the movement. Each chapter invites you to write your own letter — turning reading into an act of healing. Identify. Acknowledge. Forgive. Release.

★★★★★
"It doesn't just describe trauma, it explains the why behind the behaviors, emotions, fears, and survival patterns many people carry without realizing it. What made it hit so hard was how the book approaches trauma from both a biblical lens and a clinical one. It felt less like being judged and more like finally being understood."

★★★★★
"The author has a powerful way of putting emotions into words that many people struggle to express — the silent pain, anger, confusion, and longing carried from childhood into adulthood. The space to write your own letter transformed the reading into something personal, healing, and interactive."

"There are so many 'wow' moments throughout these chapters — and even some tears shed — because this gives outstanding biblical and psychological reasonings to a lot of my personal why's. This is a must read book to properly heal and grow."

His Rib · Her Lord
The podcast is where the framework gets talked through out loud — marriage, trauma, identity, faith, and the psychology underneath all of it. Start there. If it resonates, the Institute is the next step.
Admission
We do not sell seats to anyone with a credit card. The Institute only works when the couple actually wants the work — so every entry starts with a conversation.
A short, honest conversation. We hear where you are, tell you plainly whether the Institute is the right room for you, and walk you through what your twelve weeks would actually look like. No pressure, no pitch — you leave with at least one real next step either way.
Reserve Your ConsultationIf we are a fit, your seat is confirmed with program entry — which opens your member portal, your track, and your place in the cohort. Cohorts are capped so that no couple gets lost in a crowd.
Enroll — $89.99Once you are enrolled, each spouse completes the Marriage Tier Assessment separately. This is what your coach reads before session one — so week one starts with a diagnosis instead of an introduction.
Open the AssessmentThe assessment link is also emailed to you the moment your enrollment is confirmed.

Honest Answers
Because the program you would be shown is not the program you would run. There are three twelve-week tracks, and which one you walk depends entirely on what your assessment finds. Publishing all three would tell you almost nothing about your own. The consultation exists so we can tell you what your twelve weeks look like — before you commit to anything.
No. HRHL provides faith-based coaching and mentoring grounded in Christian principles. It is not psychotherapy, mental-health treatment, or a substitute for care from a licensed professional. Where clinical care is what someone needs, we say so plainly and refer out. That boundary protects you as much as it protects us.
Come to the consultation anyway. That situation is more common than you think, and there is real work an individual can do — often the work that eventually changes the temperature at home. We will be honest with you about what is and is not possible from one side.
Most programs treat behavior. This one treats identity, and then behavior. It is also measured: you take a 200-question assessment at baseline, again at twelve weeks, and again at six months, so progress is documented rather than felt. If nothing moved, you will know. So will we.
Yes — in writing. Every participant receives a Confidentiality Agreement before the program begins. Individual sessions are confidential and kept separate from couples sessions. Group members agree to keep one another's stories in the room. Any use of your image or words in content requires a separate, signed release. Confidentiality is the default; visibility is opt-in.
We ask where you are and what you have already tried. You tell us the truth. We tell you which track we would likely put you on, what the twelve weeks require of you, and whether we think this is the right room for you at all. If it isn't, we will point you somewhere better.
